Specular skies and a blissful hour of soaking for under $10…that’s what travelers to Crystal Crane Hot Springs can be sure to enjoy.
Of the many hot spring spots in Southeastern Oregon, few are actually cool enough to take a dip in. There are some scattered on the map which are all but untouched (and rarely visited), but a few have been commercialized. And in this instance, that’s code for “upgraded with amenities.”
This site has both a large outdoor pool for communal soaking, and several private, enclosed tubs. But one of the perks of this place is how it’s set up for overnight stays, with RV hook-ups, tent sites, tepees with private tubs, and cabins. Not to mention, guest status upgrades one to free Wi-Fi and coffee, use of the communal space, and access to a Camp Kitchen stocked with handy on-the-road utensils. The staff is known to be friendly.
Additional Info: The fee to use the outside hot springs is $4.50 (waived with an overnight stay) or $7.50 per person for use of the wonderful private soaking tubs. Crystal Crane Hot Springs is open year-round. Call 541.493.231, or book via their website, linked above.

8 years agoKrista and I got to experience these wonderful hot springs on our recent adventure to Eastern Oregon--wonderful! There was no sulphur smell at all, as we've noticed at some hot springs, and the private tub was huge and very clean (cleaned well after each use). We highly recommend them, and be sure to check out the cool birds at the ponds in back, too!
