I am a yoga teacher at both The Movement Center and Woodlawn's Be Here Now Yoga in Northeast Portland. I am also the co-founder and manager of the Woodlawn Neighborhood Farmers Market, and travel once a year to volunteer with a Fair Trade funded orphanage project in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Community empowerment is my passion!
In 2014, I received my 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training certificate from The Movement Center in Portland, Oregon. In my personal practice, I have found that yoga acts as a microcosm of life off of the mat. It teaches us self acceptance, reflective awareness, and how to communicate kindly and intentionally with ourselves and others.
In January of 2015, a fellow teacher and I began one of Portland's only 100% donation based studios, Woodlawn's Be Here Now Yoga. Since then, our program has grown to include six certified teachers and a loving and open community of practitioners. Believing that yoga can serve all body types, backgrounds, physical, emotional, and financial situations, our mission is to make yoga accessible to everyone.
Outside of yoga and the farmers market, I enjoy reading, camping, international travel, long hikes with friends and my two big dogs, Mexican food, canoeing, and being an activist for food justice and environmental sustainability.
