We stumbled across the beautiful Garden of Surging Waves in Astoria on a recent visit. Located downtown adjacent to City Hall's east side and just a few blocks from the Astoria Sunday Market, it is a park which seeks to celebrate and honor the Chinese heritage of Astoria and the region.
The Garden was dedicated in 2017 as part of a larger project to redevelop the city block and historic core of the city. We love walking around Astoria, from the piers to the hills above, and you'll have to stay tuned about more exciting developments in the future.
The park is bordered by 11th Street to the west, Duane Street to the north, 12th Street to the east, and Exchange Street to the south.
