For a quick and easy escape, head about five miles south of Downtown Portland to the Tryon Creek State Park. This natural wonderland beckons to true outdoors enthusiasts with approximately eight miles of trails meandering through 645 acres of woodland.
There are also small educational exhibits inside the visitor center. The park is free, but you can make a donation or purchase from the lovely little gift shop to support the Friends of Tryon Creek, which offers many great educational programs and more.

9 years agoTryon Creek State Natural Area is one of our favorite places to hike in Portland! We love the beautiful canyon and creek, with tons of wildlife and beautiful bridges. There are so many cool bird species there, for instance, including many species of owls.
