Downtown Portland's Living Room Theater (341 SW Tenth Ave.) takes the cinema experience to a whole new level of comfort. As they point out on their web site, Portland is one of the highest per capita film viewing cities in the US! Might as well be cozy, right?
Living Room theater presents new releases, as well as independent films, including some that are only shown at festivals.
Ticket prices are extremely reasonable - regular admission is $10.00, with $8.00 matinees (before 5:00 pm) and $7.00 admission for seniors, students and educators. On Monday and Tuesday, discount tickets are offered at $5.00 (except on holidays and for 3D shows). Important - after 7:00 pm, Living Room theater is 21+ only.
The best part? Living Room Theater includes a full bar and restaurant, offering tapas, salads, panini, pizzas, wine, local beer and cocktails - any of these items can be consumed in the cinema! Eating a cheeseburger, sipping a mojito and watching the latest buzz-generating indie film all at the same time has to be the most scrumptiously indulgent experience ever. To enjoy in-theater food and beverage service, arrive at least 30 minutes early to place your order.
One last word - try to snag the ottoman!
