Portland International Film Festival (PIFF) is one of Portland's most exciting festivals of the year. Sponsored by NW Film, who operate through Portland Art Museum, PIFF attracts an audience of 38,000. PIFF will take place at multiple venues throughout PDX (including Portland Art Museum's Whitsell Auditorium, Cinema 21 and the Fox Tower) from February 11th through 27th.
PIFF will screen over 140 internationally-made shorts and feature films, making it the largest film festival in Oregon. Audiences can enjoy films we may not usually gain access to from countries such as Argentina, Columbia, Italy, France, Denmark and Iran. If you are passionate about film and/or travel, PIFF is the event for you!
For out of town visitors travelling to Portland for PIFF, weekend passes are available. There are also plenty of festival-related events and parties to enhance the experience, as well.
You can find details about showings and festival events in this week's Willamette Week, available at newsstands throughout downtown (there is one on Pioneer Courthouse Square and also one in front of Pioneer Place Mall) or at http://www.nwfilm.org/festivals/piff.
(The Emblematic PIFF doughnuts are shown here in the window of Mario's, a quality clothing retailer in the Fox Tower.)
