This is a great easy hike up the Oneonta Gorge to Lower Oneonta Falls, but be aware that the trail is a creek bed, so try to hike when the water levels are low. It is just 0.6 miles round trip to the Lower Falls and 1.5 miles round trip to the bridge. Water shoes are recommended and be careful of the log jam.
DIRECTIONS
Drive Interstate 84 east of Portland 35 miles to exit 35, Ainsworth Park and follow the old scenic highway 1.5 miles back to the large Horsetail Falls Trailhead parking area.
This one of many spectacular hikes in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area located east of Portland.
